The wines tell the story of where they came from. The food tells the story of where we are.\r\n\r\nThere’s something magical about July in Ohio. Farmers’ markets are overflowing with peaches still warm from the sun, sweet corn picked that morning, vibrant tomatoes, fragrant herbs, and zucchini at its absolute best. Rather than creating a menu around imported ingredients, this month’s Wine Club celebrates the bounty growing right here at home.\r\n\r\nEach course has been thoughtfully paired with wines that express their own unique sense of place, from the limestone soils of Uruguay to the volcanic hillsides of Campania. Together, the food and wine create a conversation between two worlds, one rooted in the vineyards of renowned wine regions, the other in the fields and farms of Ohio at the height of summer.\r\n\r\nWe invite you to slow down, savor each pairing, and discover how thoughtfully chosen food can transform a great wine into an unforgettable experience.\r\n\r\n⸻\r\n\r\nFirst Pour\r\n\r\n2025 Familia Deicas “Faaa!” Albariño\r\n\r\nJuanicó, Canelones, Uruguay\r\n\r\nBright and refreshing, this sustainably farmed Albariño bursts with aromas of apricot, white peach, honeydew melon, spring flowers, and lemon zest. Five months resting on its fine lees lend the wine a subtle creaminess, while vibrant acidity and a saline, mineral finish make it exceptionally food-friendly.\r\n\r\nPaired With\r\n\r\nCharred Ohio Peaches\r\n\r\nLocal Honey • Pistachio Dukkah • Fresh Basil • Lemon Zest\r\n\r\nPeak-season Ohio peaches are lightly charred to deepen their natural sweetness while preserving their freshness.
